Saving Your Furniture during the Move with the Help of Stretch Film

It can be an exciting time to move from you existing home into the new home. And at the same time, it can be quite stressful too. That is due to the fact that you have to pack everything you need and move it into the new home; and this process can be quite exhausting. The moving process can be especially difficult when you have to move the bigger furniture with you. The real challenge is not about handling the massive furniture pieces. It is mainly about preventing the damage they can receive.

A very ideal option to save your furniture from damage is to secure it using stretch film. You can wrap this film around the furniture, and it will protect your furniture from getting scratches and chips. Stretch film is a flexible and elastic film made of plastic. You can wrap it around anything quite tightly. So when you are moving your bureau, you can first wrap a stretch film around it to keep its drawers close.

Using stretch film while moving
First, you need to clean the surface of the furniture items you are moving. Then you will have to remove any detachable parts such as legs, drawers and table leaves. You can wrap those items separately. Make sure that you have placed paper padding or furniture pads on the surface before starting wrapping the item. This way, the items being wrapped will get a breathing space.

Stretch film is available in different sizes. You can use a stretch film of a size which is appropriate to the furniture items you are moving. For bigger furniture pieces, you can use larger rolls. The biggest risk while moving furniture is mainly about the corners of the items getting damaged. Right before wrapping the stretch film, you can secure corners using foam pieces. You can also use cardboard to protect those edges and corner.

While wrapping, all you are going to have to do is to walk around the item and let the film getting rolled out and wrapped around the item. You are going to have to pull the dispenser well enough to ensure a tight wrap.

Some great applications of stretch film
Since stretch film comes with an ability to hold anything, it can be used for a number of purposes. For instance, you can keep the electronic cords neat by wrapping this film around them.

If you are storing artwork or other fragile items, you can keep paper or foam between the two items and wrap the film around them.

Receiving Room Supplies for the Outgoing Packages

For many people, a receiving room is a mysterious area only accessible by some authorized people. The employees who work in those areas are usually equipped with the box cutters and they have to deal with an ocean of the packing peanuts and piles of boxes.

People working in the retail receiving rooms know that this room has to deal with the incoming and outgoing packaging supplies. In many cases, the number of boxes going out of this room is equal to the number of boxes coming in. These boxes may contain the products which are to be delivered to the customers and they may also be the products getting returned by the customers.

In simple words, a receiving room is basically a busy space which has to deal with the packages which are sent to the customers as well as the packages which are returned from the customers. And so, this room has to have all of the supplies which are necessary to treat the boxes according to their requirements.

Cushioning supplies

It might like a wiser approach to reuse the filling materials inside the incoming boxes. But the matter of fact is that this practice can lead to the product damages. That is due to the ability of some materials to crumble into dust when they are used for more than once. And some of the packaging materials are susceptible to static charge. Using such materials to pack your electronic items can be quite a risky move. You have to make sure that you are using only high quality cushioning supplies. And also make sure that you have enough of those supplies to be filled in every box before it is sent out.

Boxes and mailers

Just like reusing cushioning materials is not an ideal thing to do, reusing the boxes and mailers can cause the safety of products to be compromised. The major drawback of reusing the cardboard boxes is that they are more prone to getting crumpled or torn before they reach the customers. While a box may seem strong enough to be reused, it has endured enough of the harsh treatment it is made to tolerate.

Even if a box is fit for a reuse, it is likely to be covered with so many labels and dust which it gathers during the shipping process. Sending that box to the customer is not going to make a good statement to them.
